Creative Community Sneak Peaks on June 1st!

We love our winter dates of The Olive Tree market in Civic Park! Especially when we are sharing the space with the fabulous Spiegeltent! It’s fantastic seeing the entire cultural heart of the city filled with creative community!

You’re invited to join us to discover our curated marketplace of makers, designers, artists and street food alchemists! Here are a small sprinkling of our talented creatives featuring on June 1st

We would love it if you could share our facebook invite with your market gang for all market and event updates here and make sure to follow along on facebook and instagram.

Nicole Berlach Illustration

June is the time when many of Australia’s wild flowers begin to bloom. How beautiful are these prints featuring artist Nicole Berlach, which feature a collection of our stunning wild flowers. They have us dreaming of road trips to the outback, and discovering parts of our amazingly unique country and rare wildflowers.

Nicole’s prints feature the botanical names of each flower, as well as their Indigenous uses, many of the flowers and edible and have medicinal applications.  Discover the artists work on June 1st, including prints, textile home wares and cards featuring the artists watercolours and illustrations.

Hello August

Say hello to Emily Hodges of  Hello August! How fantastic are the colours and the design of these polymer clay and brass earrings. Emily previously created textile home wares label The Home Collective, and has now branched out to launch her new range of contemporary jewellery.

Hello August’s designs predominately feature a sweet pastel palette that we know is going to be super popular with our jewellery loving audience at at The Olive Tree Market! Make sure to come early to pick up your own unique pair and welcome Emily to Newcastle.

Leilluca Ceramics

How beautiful are the glazes in these vessels by the artisan Jacquie Garcia of Leiluca Ceramics. Jacquie has been receiving lots of attention of late for her beautiful home wares and we understand why! She has recently featured in an exhibition at new local Newcastle art gallery Between The Lines and as part of the Play With Mud ceramics event at Newcastle Art Gallery.

Jacquie will be bringing lots of special one off pieces to choose from at the upcoming Olive Tree including platters, vases, planters and keep cups.

Ok so we know these treats look almost too pretty to eat, but trust us, they taste as good as they look and you really need to try them! Nic Poelaert is the talented creator of Choux Patisserie. Every one of his amazing eclairs is made by hand, filled with delicious creamy custards and sweetened with seasonal fruits. They are literally perfection!

Try them for your self next Saturday, pick up a coffee and make a morning tea picnic with friends- we provide the rugs and live music!
