Olive Tree Pop’s Up at Maitland Regional Art Gallery

This Saturday May 11th~ 9am-2pm

Have you been to the amazing Maitland Regional Art Gallery? If not, then it’s your chance to this Saturday! Olive Tree will pop-up with the first of our four Seasonal market dates at Maitland Regional Art Gallery in 2019. Join us for a day of creative community. Think great art, design, and street food stalls and live music under the gallery trees. It’s also the perfect opportunity to pick up beautifully created gifts for your mama-its the day before Mother’s Day.

Here are a few of the great handmade pieces that you will be able to choose from on Saturday from our talented creatives. We will post more during the week so stay tuned!

Madams Handmade

We are in love with the beautiful serving boards created by clever Maddison Admas of Madams Handmade. Each board also features an wood burnt illustration by the maker. Maddi also makes great picnic tables -perfect for days with family and friends at the beach.

Rhiannon Wright Art

How gorgeous is this garden series of ceramic plates created by artist Rhiannon Wright. The maker says the sweet little flowers are actually weeds, “.. the truth is, they are mostly weeds from my paddocks, or from the edges of my vegie garden, where they are trying to creep in and take over.. I love the look on people’s faces when I finally tell them that, and they realise how much beauty can come from something as overlooked, and often burdensome, as the humble weed.” We love these pieces and the sentiment of looking for beauty in unexpected places.

Leiluca Ceramics

Every mama deserves a cuppa in bed on Mother’s Day and even better if its handcrafted and made with love! Jacquie Garcia of Leiluca Ceramics creates beautiful, functional ceramics. The majority of the artists work is made on the pottery wheel, using Australian stoneware clay and finished in glazes and colour palettes that are inspired by the natural environment. Her recent collection of ceramic keep cups, have been incredibly popular, not only are they stylish but they are beautiful to hold. Pick one up on Saturday alongside a range of home wares, including platters, bowls, teapots and hanging planters.

The Print Society

We are happy to announce that textile artist, and home wares designer, Karen Johnston of The Print Society will be showcasing her beautiful work at Maitland Regional Art Gallery for the first time this Saturday. Think cushions and wall hangings, in bold strong patterns, hand screen printed in earthy tones. The maker also creates stunning ceramics, including vases and vessels, with unique shapes and glazes. We are in love with Karen’s work and look forward to introducing her to our Maitland Olive Tree Market community on Saturday.
