Two Artists, One Vision: ‘ICONS’ Exhibition Brings Together Fine Art and Street Art in a Bold New Showcase
A chance encounter at The Olive Tree Market last year has sparked a powerful artistic collaboration between two dynamic forces in contemporary art. After connecting over their shared passion & talents, these two powerhouse women are taking their work from Olive Tree to their very own gallery exhibition, one that celebrates their shared commitment to pushing creative boundaries and championing female representation in the art world.
Goya Torres: Bridging Fine Art and Street Art with Vivid Expression
Goya Torres’ artistic practice is a rich tapestry of colour, expressive strokes, and powerful characters. Drawing inspiration from her Mexican heritage, she blurs the lines between fine art and street art, creating work that pulses with energy and depth. Her bold approach challenges traditional artistic boundaries, offering a unique and immersive visual experience. Goya has been involved in group exhibitions, live-painting events, street-art festivals, mural and public art projects in Australia, Mexico, USA, United Kingdom and Europe since 2012. Some of her artwork is now part of private collections in Sydney, Melbourne and Mexico.
Claudia Rose: A Bold New Force in Contemporary Art
Claudia Rose’s meteoric rise in the art world is nothing short of extraordinary. Picking up a brush for the first time in 2023, she quickly captured audiences, culminating in a sold-out show by the end of the year. Her work, created in her self-described “circus tent” studio, exudes raw authenticity and an unfiltered passion for life. Raised in the country before moving to Newcastle’s coastline, Claudia brings a deep connection to nature and personal experience into every piece she creates.
Stripping away all armour, she embraces raw creativity and playful expression, channeling it into art that is vivid, sassy, and unapologetically liberating. Her work pulses with confidence and courage, a reflection of the artist herself. “The stage is set, the paint is fresh—every piece, every moment, is me. No holding back. No playing small. So, step in, lean in—dare to be bold with me,” says Claudia Rose.
Hosted by Leda Gallery, the ‘ICONS’ exhibition opening promises an evening of colour, conversation, and creativity, complete with drinks and nibbles. The showcase will run until April 10, offering visitors the chance to engage with the work during gallery hours, Wednesday to Friday (10 AM – 3 PM), for a quieter, more intimate viewing experience. We cannot wait to see two of our beloved Olive Tree Artists in action!
