We are excited to bring you a second beautiful collective of creatives to Olive Tree at the New Annual in Civic Park this Saturday. We will showcase many new artists and designers to those that featured at last weekends event. We are super proud the special dates of Olive Tree at the New Annual– the City Of Newcastle’s inaugural arts festival, is part of the line-up of festival events which are supported by the NSW Government’s Festival of Place – Summer Fund

Olive Tree at the New Annual is part of the NSW Governments initiative to support councils to activate local public spaces by running free, safe activations and events. The ethos behind creating our special markets is to bring our community of Newcastle together to connect after COVID. Supporting our creative community-including makers and creator of small batch handmade goods, musicians and performers during this time of economic recovery is vitally important.

A creative you must visit on Saturday is Indigenous artists Krystal Hurst of Gillawarra Arts who was a finalist of the Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) and will feature wearable art pieces and prints of her original art works.

The line-up of makers we will welcome to Civic Park on Saturday include:

Our friends at Jemidee who make beautiful slow fashion in sustainable fabrics.

Ceramics homewares created by hand by ceramicist Brett Niven Ceramics

Surface designed homewares, hand screen printed by the artists Bob Window.
