This Saturday we can’t wait to launch the first of our yearly Summer + Christmas Market Series. The four dates are Newcastle’s most anticipated markets of the calendar year!
For the first time in 2022, the Olive Tree stallholder community will be back on both sides of Civic Park! With 120+ amazing stalls it’s our biggest line-up so far in 2022!
We will be featuring a collective of talented debut creatives, guest makers and artists who only showcase at Olive Tree’s Summer markets, plus lots of exciting new work from your favourite regulars makers and creators- check out our sneak peaks below!
We know there will be lots of excited people to hear that Samba Frog will be playing from 12:30pm as part of our live music line-up. Get ready for joyous Brazilian percussion, samba, and drumming! Bring the kids, your market gang, and fur family members, and enjoy an exciting day out in Civic Park.
Wiradjuri woman Jade Holborow of Wandyu Art is a contemporary Indigenous artist who creates her works on Awabakal Land.
This stunning painting is called “Beautiful Spring” nguyaguyamilang.
Jade is joining the Olive Tree creative community for the first time on November 5th. Jade will be featuring at one market only as she has a new family member on the way! Make sure not to miss the opportunity of discovering her amazing work
In addition to her own creative practice, Jade is passionate about sharing her knowledge on culture, and works in schools along the east coast leading students through a creative journey to produce their own artworks, whilst focusing on mindfulness and meditation.
Jade also supports students interacting with mentors, including mental health workers and police youth liaison officers, as part of the healing process and to embrace community.
We look forward to welcoming back partners in life and creativity Zaya & Geordie of Hands Head Heart to Olive Tree.
